Independent pet cost research — reviewed by our editorial team.

Editorial Team

Last updated

PawCostWise is produced by a small editorial team focused on pet care costs, veterinary billing, and pet insurance in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia.

Our approach

We are researchers and writers, not veterinarians. That shapes what we do and what we deliberately avoid.

What we do: gather published pricing data, read insurance policy documents properly, and explain what we find in plain language — including the parts that are inconvenient or uncertain.

What we avoid: presenting ourselves as clinical experts, offering diagnoses or treatment recommendations, or implying a level of certainty that the underlying data does not support.

How work is reviewed

Every guide passes through a human editor before publication. The editor checks that cost claims have a traceable basis, that health-related passages stay informational rather than prescriptive, and that the piece genuinely helps a reader facing a decision.

Our full standards are set out in our editorial policy.

Where clinical expertise comes in

For questions that require veterinary judgement, we point readers to their own veterinarian rather than substituting our own opinion. A vet who has examined the animal has information we never will.

Where a guide covers a clinical topic, we describe what published veterinary sources say rather than offering an opinion of our own, and we point readers to their own veterinarian for anything that needs a professional judgement.
